Denver, Colorado: What to Do This Weekend





Denver has many activities for the weekend. From music festivals and sports events to art exhibitions and street parties, you can find something for everyone in your family. The Colorado State Fair spans eleven days of fun filled with carnivals and concerts. Rodeos can be found at the National Western Complex. If you are looking for something to do together, take the kids to a rodeo 101 lesson at the arena. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you can go on a tour of the Denver Union Station, which is set to be renovated soon.

Denver Dickens is an entertainment venue that offers weekend entertainment. This festival features Victorian dancing, sing-alongs as well as parades. It runs for two weekends, August 22nd-28th.




Don't overlook the Denver Art Museum’s Saints, Sinners, Lovers, and Fools exhibition, Undressing Mexican Soul. Denver Art Museum has many unique works of Indian art. Everybody is invited to the museum on the first Saturday each month. Colorado residents can also enjoy a penny admission.

You can find plenty of food and drink specials in Denver this weekend, too. From beer tastings to wine in the pines, you're sure to get your fill of tasty treats. You might even find local food at some festivals.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is also available. This Halloween-themed show is at Mythology Distillery. Although it's not for everyone, it's a great event to enjoy with your friends. Tickets are only $10, while children under 5 can attend free of charge.

A half-mile fun run or free run is a great way to exercise this weekend. Participation in the Mile High United Way Turkey Trot can be arranged. A beer garden, a village start/finish, and a quarter-mile fun run are all part of the race.

Finally, don't forget about the National Western Stock Show. There are two options: you can view the stock and pro rodeos, or the Wild West shows. You can also visit rodeo grounds where you can take part in many classes.
