Summer camps provide children with a chance to experience new experiences, gain a sense if themselves, and acquire life skills. The majority of autonomous play instances were found in unstructured play, according to observations. The vast majority of activities were engaging and only 24% showed any organized activity.

Camp 2's gymnasium was smaller than other camps. This made it difficult to accommodate all campers in any given activity. It offered more organized activities, and was able to efficiently allocate space.
